Our values
What moves us day by day
The beginning
Bodegas Ferrera was born in the 40s , with the purchase by the Ferrera family of Finca Las Vigas , located in a unique enclave, 1,000 meters above sea level, in the middle of a large volcanic tongue, in the Valley of Guimar.
Tomás Ferrera, founder of the winery , executed by hand the most beautiful work on our farm: the dry stone walls. For years he climbed every day with his mule (here they are called 'beasts') to raise stone by stone the walls that support the flowerbeds where, to this day, the vines of our native varieties still survive.

The present
Listán Blanco from the Canary Islands, Aromatic Malvasia, Albillo Criollo, and Vijariego Blanco are our main white grape varieties. Malvasia Rosada, Moscatel Negro, and Listán Negro are the varieties that underpin our rosé wines. When it comes to reds, we work well with our native variety Vijariego Negro, as well as the well-known Tempranillo and Syrah.
